What is a milk analyser?
The machine at the counter that reads fat and SNF from a small sample in about a minute.
A milk analyser passes sound through a small sample and reports fat, SNF and often CLR, protein, lactose, added water and temperature. It takes under a minute and needs no acid, unlike the Gerber method it replaced.
The number it prints is what the member is paid on, which is why writing it onto paper and then typing it into a phone is the step worth removing.
Dairywala reads STPL and Ekobond analysers over Bluetooth Low Energy, Ekomilk Ultra and Essae and Lactoscan and Master Classic over Classic Bluetooth, and EIPL and WySense over WiFi. The feature is marked Beta in the app, and Classic Bluetooth machines connect on Android phones.
