Milk collection entry

Litres, fat, SNF, CLR — and the rate and amount before the can is off the scale.

The form only shows what that member is priced on. A member on a fixed rate is asked for litres alone; one on the 52/48 formula is asked for fat and SNF; one on a lactometer is asked for fat and CLR. Nobody is shown a box they never fill.

Morning and evening are separate shifts, and cow, buffalo and mixed milk are recorded per entry. If the same member is entered twice for the same date and shift, you are warned before it saves.

Mistyped readings are corrected rather than accepted — 65 becomes 6.5, 120 becomes 12.0 — and readings that cannot be real are refused. Quantity is held between 0.1 and 100,000 litres and rate below ₹200 a litre.

If no rate has been set for that member, the entry does not save. Dairywala would rather stop you now than pay a guessed price you find out about at settlement.
